湖南省森林防灭火指挥部办公室1月4日16时发布森林火险黄色预警：未来24小时衡阳（全境）、株洲（攸县、炎陵、醴陵、茶陵、渌口区）、郴州（市区、安仁、桂阳、永兴、资兴、嘉禾、桂东）、永州（市区、东安、江永、双牌、祁阳、新田、宁远、道县）、邵阳（市区、洞口、隆回、武冈、新宁、邵阳县、邵东、新邵）森林火险等级较高（3级），请按森林火灾应急预案规定，启动黄色预警响应措施：加强防火值班调度，加强野外火源管理，加强森林防灭火巡护和瞭望监测，加强火险隐患排查，落实防灭火装备物资，县乡两级森林消防队伍进入待命状态。省森防办温馨提示：风大物燥火险高，野外用火不能烧。
